Switch between implant and abutment interface

The user will now be able to select between implant and abutment interface when exporting the patient case through the Virtual Planning Export.

This improvement, which will be available for the Xorder export in a first step, will better tailor the export to the subsequent CAD workflow, making it possible to export the patient case without the abutment if the implant interface option is selected.

Surgical guide design improvements

To optimize speed and accuracy of the production process, the following improvements were made for surgical guide design orders sent to Straumann production centers:

• Guide type

  Users of coDiagnostiX are now asked whether their guide is intended for cutting bone.

• Accessory selection

  When placing their order, users can now choose between the three options No Accessories, Sleeves only or Sleeves and pins depending on their current needs.

• Customer number

  Users are now asked to enter their costumer number when placing their order to ensure the order is correctly assigned to its intended recipient.

Bone reduction guides

Now available is the all-new option to design a bone reduction guide for patient cases that require a bone reduction prior to dental implant placement.

These new guides support cutting of osseous structures by guiding an instrument, such as a piezo saw, along a predefined plane. Define a cut profile first, then design a bone reduction guide based on this profile with the familiar Guide Design Wizard.

The same process can also be used to plan a guided external sinus lift or a guided apicoectomy

• The loading speed of the implant selection dialog has been significantly improved.
• A new printout has been added to allow users more customization options. It contains all images stored in the Image Management for a particular patient.

Automatic positioning of lateral pins

• When a lateral pin is added to a tooth position, it is now automatically placed at the selected tooth position and tilted at an angle. This ensures that the pin is in the best position to start fine alignment.
• In addition, pins are now assigned an undefined number (XX), to prevent them from blocking the tooth number for implants.

New in EASY mode: Distance measurements and segmentation slider

• It’s now possible to measure distances in the implant alignment step in EASY mode. This function was previously only available in EXPERT mode.
• In addition, the Dataset Preparation step in EASY mode now features a segmentation threshold slider. It allows users to optimize the appearance of their 3D reconstruction from scan data more easily.

Bugfixing

• Improved performance of the surgical guide designer.
• Fixed a rare problem, where customers with a Producer license were unable to read datasets sent to them by locked clients.

Virtual planning export improved

When converting scans into, for instance, models with implant analogs, the virtual planning export now allows users to store the resulting object directly in the current case planning. Users must no longer re-import an STL file. This new and convenient import option applies to intraoral, model or impression scans as well as to segmentations and all other user-imported 3D objects.

Support for digital marker trays

coDiagnostiX now supports the digital marker trays for the DENACAM system from Mininavident.

Refined abutment-implant alignment

An issue regarding abutment alignment has been fixed for implants with a 30% angled shoulder.

Rapid Shape output file format added

Printing guides on a Rapid Shape printer has become easier. When exporting a surgical guide to the printer, the RSHAPESTL file format now transfers meta data, which helps accelerate the printing process.

Interactive introduction & Help

It is now easier for new users to get started.
After the installation of the software, an onboarding wizard is launched which describes the basic concept of the start screen and explains the difference between EXPERT and EASY modes.

The EASY mode now offers detailed step-by-step instructions for each workflow task.

New license options

In addition to the traditional CLIENT and PRODUCER licenses, version 9.12 offers attractive license modules that are tailored to the needs of specific target groups.

Sleeve Systems

• Support for the Straumann VeloDrill sleeve system has been added, including a detailed surgical protocol.
• Users of the Neodent Grand Morse sleeve system can now output a surgical protocol.
• For the Japanese market, support for the YDM sleeve system has been added.

Faster Scanning GPU Optimization

Among the improvements in DWOS 9 is a 25% increase in scan speed in the 7Series lab scanner, as well as significant improvements when using the virtual articulator.
